Y'all ‼️ So when the family reached out to see Y'all ‼️ So when the family reached out to see if I could do my clients hair for his funeral I immediately said yes... no hesitation. Driving to the funeral home today I thought this could either go 2 ways: 1) this is the ultimate Act of Service that I could provide; the grand finale Or 2) I would be scared out of my mind and not be able to complete the task I showed up, walked in that room and Froze, I saw the side of his face which looked soooo different then what I imagined and I couldn't get out that room fast enough. I called my mama, no answer, I called Shawntae and said I just need to pray, just touch (virtually) and agree with me, she told me to let the feelings come up but my mind kept screaming 🗣 You Know How Scary You Are, Why Are You Here??!! I pumped myself up, walked back in and right out I went again...🚶🏾‍♀️ The funeral director informed me that his barber was on his way, I said I'll wait for him! While waiting, I messaged Moné and Michele that I need a video chat asap! One said she was proud that I was being a Big Girl and the other had jokes that at least now I won't want to pop his head for moving too much 🤣 The barber showed up and I took a deep breath and made it into the room, hands shaking and terrified but as I watched the barber who, like me did my clients hair for years, swallow his fear and tend to his friend with Great care. I put on my Big Girl Panties (held onto them for dear life) took a deep breath and Handled it. Yes, I did it scared No I don't want to Ever Never do this again ..... clients don't get Any ideas!
